New for this season, Salomon’s S Max 10 for women delivers ferocious frontside fulfilment, so long as you have the ability to tame it. This top-of-the-range carver harbours more than enough energy to have the most aggressive of female skiers ripping up the groomers, springing gazelle-like from turn to turn.
It was slightly easier to stay in the saddle at high speeds than when riding its big sister, the Blast, making it a much more enjoyable descent, without demanding so much input for the same lively response.
The S Max range features Salomon’s new Edge Amplifier Technology, a beefed-up sidewall that transmits power directly to the ski edge and certainly seems to promote excellent grip from tip to tail. This ski loves the corduroy but will handle any chop or heavier conditions if necessary with its broad nose.
The S Max 10 is desperate to show you what it can do and dives head first into carve mode the minute you initiate the turn. Just be sure to stay on top and you’ll feel this ski drive dynamic arcs all day long.
