It’s not new, it’s not revamped, but the twin-tipped Head Caddy – which you may recognise from the podium of the Olympic slopestyle – simply does precisely what it’s made for. It feels solid under the foot and you just know without doubt that it is capable of holding up to the most brutal of landings.

Travelling at speed on rough terrain? Strong and stable, with very little chatter, so Head has got the dampening spot on. Slamming down hard with a disaster onto a rail? Not a problem for this ski. And it has enough life and camber to give great pop from all areas of the ski.

Our chief freestyle tester Andy Bennett says:

“In terms of shape and sidecut it’s nothing special – but that’s exactly what a good park ski should be, as the predictable shape ensures it’s not twitchy at speed and means you are less likely to catch an edge after a big landing. The 84mm width underfoot makes it a ideal pipe ski and it will hold an edge all the way up an icy superpipe.”

In a year of so-so topsheets the graphics are especially cool and the price, including the Attack 13GW binding, is pretty attractive too.
