TESTED BY CHRIGL, FATHER OF LUPO, 6
I’ll be honest, as soon as I had taken a good look at this Namuk gear I went online to check if Namuk did adult sizes – sadly they don’t!
The colours are unlike the standard fare adults are offered (pictured here is the Wasabi-coloured Four Snow Jacket, with the Purple Beans Corbet pants). So, yes, the colours are cool and the cuts are dialled but, of course, Namuk’s reputation hasn’t been built solely on how their gear looks, but how it performs. These boast 15,000mm waterproofing/15,000gm breathability, combined with PrimaLoft Bio insulation, which simply means, your young one will stay dry and warm at least as long as you will.
If you are serious about offering your kids the best experience in the mountains then take note of the other features: the pants are bib pants, to keep snow out when building igloos or learning powder technique; the pants can be zipped onto the jacket for extra security in deep snow; the seams are all fully taped; there are pockets for ski passes/goggles/sandwiches/garbage; the jacket has underarm vents; the outer material is soft but appears very durable.
Essentially, there is nothing that has been left off of a top-spec adult outfit. Sure, this gear is as pricy as kids’ ski wear gets, but you get what you pay for.
Last, but not least, something that highlights Namuk’s focus on the younger generation and the future they will inherit, is the sustainability of the gear.
Namuk can confidently say they are a brand with a conscience thanks to their charitable actions, and also their efforts to include recycled and trademarked biodegradable materials in this gear and other ski suits, in order to reduce the impact our kids’ ski wear has on the planet.
Bravo, Namuk.
