The Factor shell jacket and bib pant – available in men’s and women’s versions are new for this season. The soft feel keeps them quiet (no nasty crinkling noises), yet the fabric proves seriously tough, and the in-built stretch and wool blend backer only add to the freedom you feel when in the mountains.

Using Black Diamond’s BD.Dry membrane, this waterproof/breathable 30k/30k membrane keeps the weather out, and allows moisture from the inside to escape. We’ve done some serious ascents in the Factor suit, and it has never once let us down.

The cut and dynamic range the outfit offers is brilliant, and there are plenty of pockets, with each one being well thought out and in the right place. The padded transceiver pocket on the thigh is a great idea, to keep digital devices separate from your transceiver and to add some protection.
