Helly Hansen are making a new crowdsourced film, and some of the entrants are ace
Norwegian outerwear company Helly Hansen are making a new crowdsourced ski film celebrating the freedom of skiing, and they want everyone from intermediate piste skiers to cliff-hucking pros to get involved.
Three weeks into the project, and skiers have been submitting their edits from all over the world. Here’s a few of our favourites so far.
Theresa Sippel, from the USA, entered the above video, commenting “The wind in your face, the feeling of floating effortlessly through the snow, the pure joy of sharing a pow day with your friends, and being engulfed in the beauty of the mountains… That’s the freedom of skiing.”
Benjamin Åsberg, from Sweden says: “Last winter me and my friends livde in Verbier for the season. One day we get a call from another friend how livs in Gressoney, Italy and he where telling as its snowing a lot! So we took the car and went to Italy for 3 days. And hade the most insane and fun skiing with endless powder. Just love it. This is maximum freedom, to take the car with a couple of friends and just enjoy 3 days of skiing powder in beautiful Italy. 100% skiing, 100%fun, 100%freedom.”.
“Skiing is the most important thing in my life. I love skiing alone in the powder and enjoying the silence of the nature. The best feeling when the first line on the mountain is yours. My film is about when I am waiting for the powder for several, skiing on the slopes and trying to reach the highest speed and from day to day everything changed and I went powder skiing.” says Scharf Máté of Hungary.
Reckon you can do better? You have until 30 November to upload your video to the Helly Hansen website. The full feature film will be released during the 2015-16 winter season and there’s weekly prizes for the best edits. Good luck!
