Whistler offers one of the best ski experiences for both skier and snowboarder alike. Its remarkable snow record allows you to ski until late in the season. Whilst many transfers can be long and tedious, the Whistler ski experience starts with a relatively short, but scenically beautiful transfer from Vancouver along the ‘Sea to Sky’ highway where the region’s spectacular scenery unfolds and you can often encounter sightings of the abundant wildlife.

The resort is located at the base of the two world class Ski Mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb. There is easy access by local bus or foot to the three traffic- free centres: Whistler Village, the lively core of the resort, Upper Village at the base of Blackcomb and Creekside, a bus ride away from other bases. Both mountains are easily accessible and since 2008 the Peak 2 Peak Gondola connects the Rendezvous on Blackcomb and the Roundhouse Lodge allowing skiers the option of crossing the two mountains quickly and easily without having to ski back down to the village.
Both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains have such an enormous variety of slopes and simply outstanding terrain that cater to beginners, intermediates, advanced skiers and snowboarders alike. Blackcomb and Whistler boasts the largest vertical rise of any North American resort. The trails offer wide open cruisey runs, freshly groomed corduroy (one of the largest grooming operations nightly), huge open bowls, tree-lined runs, hike-able off-piste chutes, world-class terrain parks and new for 2010 is the Olympic Park close by. For those seeking the ultimate thrill in untracked powder why not try heli skiing. There is also some 28km of cross-country tracks around Lost Lake. This resort truly offers a superb choice and something for everyone from the novice to the expert.
If you can bear to tear yourself away from the slopes, you can enjoy the Whistler’s amazing scenery by way of activities such as dog sledding, snow mobiling or snow shoeing.
