Slovenia

Small, with a population of just two million, Slovenia doesn’t do badly for mountains, lakes and skiing. Bordered by Austria and Italy, with resorts just an hour from the airport, Slovenia is one of those off-the-radar destinations which punches above its weight for value. Resorts are generally better for intermediates and beginners, but there is excellent backcountry in the Julian Alps.
