Ready for a makeover this winter? You’re in luck. We have two smart and technical outfits – yes, that’s a jacket, ski pants and midlayer for him, plus the same for her – to give away. All this kit is not only waterproof and breathable but, thanks Killtec’s clever Hamburg-based design team, each garment has every practical feature you could think of.

First up, take the men’s Raldo jacket, in eyecatching lime, worth £180. We’re looking at taped seams, 10k waterproofing, practical pockets, handy colour-contrasting zippers and fasteners and a lightly stretchy fabric for easy movement. Brilliantly, the hood is removable, zipping off so you can save weight on fair-weather days.

The Enosh matching pants, worth £100, share the taped seams, plus the braces are detachable and the kick-patches meaty.

The Naveon microfleece, worth £25, has a natty contrasting black trim, a cosy collar and a just-the-right-length zipper with chin protection. See, we told you they’d thought of everything!

As to the women’s kit, again we’re talking fully featured and functional – as well as decidedly good-looking. The Ciara Colourblock jacket, in Anthracite and worth £190, has welded seams, 10k waterproofing, great breathability, a detachable hood and a stretchy feel that allows generous freedom of movement.

The flattering, lightly stretchy Sola pants, worth £130, have detachable braces and burly kick-patches.

The Nahne microfleece, worth £25, is an ideal all-conditions midlayer and looks cool at après-ski… just don’t spill your vin chaud!
