THEY SAY
Designed for skiers addicted to spending every chance they get carving down the mountain, Salomon’s newest on-piste Addikt Pro will instantly get you hooked. Its innovative Motion Tail technology and narrow waist make it a responsive yet forgiving ski that keeps it fun to mix short and long turns as you ski all day.

WE SAY
Hands down, the most excellent ski Salomon has produced for some years. Why have we selected this as our 2024 Ski Of The Year? Everyone, irrespective of gender, who got on the Addikt Pro just lit up. Even people from other brands were gob-smacked at how good it is. It was equally loved by female and male testers, from 50kg to over 90kg, intermediate to professional level. We all only skied it in a 163cm and 170cm and still loved it. Its appeal is down to the heady mix of accessible performance, energy, grip, feedback and FUN.

This is not a race ski, and there are plenty of more powerful piste skis out there. The beauty is that you get on this ski and don’t have to think– you just ski for the soul-nourishing pleasure of it and have the biggest grin. Maybe that’s the g-forces at play?

BEST FOR
This is a piste ski for groomed terrain. It suits moderate to stronger intermediate skiers right through to experts and seasoned pros, female and male. It doesn’t require you to have a full-on Alpine boot. We skied it with race, piste/all-mountain and freeride boots and still enjoyed the similar sensations. It is dynamic and reactive when pushed, but easy at low speeds and a pleasure to ski.

Atomic Cloud Q 14 Revoshock skis in women's piste skis of 2024 category

ATOMIC Cloud Q14 Revoshock S

Lengths
144, 152, 160, 168cm

atomic.com

THEY SAY
The Atomic Cloud Q14 Revoshock S combines World Cup-proven tech with a multi-radius sidecut and a wider waist to take on all piste conditions.

WE SAY
Race-ski inspired tech with a wider footprint and a tighter sidecut than the narrower Cloud C14, the Q is less twitchy and adds another dimension of versatility for when the conditions are less than perfect.

BEST FOR
This ski is not for the timid or inexperienced skier. It isn’t scary or a handful, but the strong construction and lack of rocker rewards better technique. This is not a race ski though. If you are an advanced skier, or an expert who’s after something a little less twitchy, the Cloud Q14 has to be on your shortlist.

dynastar.com

THEY SAY
The Dynastar E Lite 8 ski balances a powerful edge with a smooth ride that absorbs vibration and terrain variations for controlled carving by advanced skiers.

WE SAY
Powerful and planted, yet light and nimble, the E Lite 8 is Dynastar at its best. Ideal for advanced to expert-level skiers, it’s effortless on the groomers, turns on a dime and is bombproof at any speed.

BEST FOR
Seriously quick edge to edge, heaps of rebound and mega grip, the E Lite 8 is best for advanced to expert skiers looking to push their performance on-piste.

THEY SAY
The Mindbender 90C W is a women’s-specific ski for intermediate to advanced skiers looking for a lightweight ski that’s comfortable going beyond groomers, at a more approachable waist width

WE SAY
Even given the changes to this ski, and the fact you get a little more performance, it’s still a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that just wants to have a good time. If you’re in the upper echelons of ski performance-dom, go for the Mindbender Ti. Beware though, you may get envious of the grin on our faces as we skip around the mountains on the C.

BEST FOR
Ideal for intermediates and advanced-level skiers. If you’re a higher level than this but don’t want a metal laminate ski, the Mindbender 90C W is one to look at. It’s not punishingly heavy either, so would work just as well mounted with a freeride touring binding. Pop some skins in your pack, then you’re ready for anything.
